The yuzu is a rare and wonderful type of Japanese citrus fruit, in this case grown and handpicked in at an organic orchard in Horowhenua. It is then crushed and pressed agrumato style by The Olive Press in Greytown, to capture the essence of fresh, ripening yuzu in a premium NZ extra virgin olive oil.
The taste and aroma is wondrous, a citrus flavour bomb that adds a whirlwind of zesty zing to the beautiful grassiness of the EVOO.
Use as a finishing oil for drizzling on seafood, chicken, roast lamb, fresh vegetables, in salads. Use in desserts - over ice cream - and a spoonful to flavour your baking too.
