It tells the story of 'Le custodi dell'anfora' or 'Guardians of the Amphora':
In ancient times in the heart of Puglia, between Castel del Monte and the valley of the Ofanto River, legend has it that four country women would, for one day – the last day of the olive pressing – became mystical priestesses, guardians of the sacred oil.
With grace and solemnity, these enigmatic figures gathered around a towering amphora, a symbol of abundance and ancient wisdom, in which the oil of the new season was contained. In this magical ritual, every movement and every whisper became part of an arcane rite. With great care, they poured the liquid gold, while ancestral chants echoed like a call among the hills. Their traditions, passed down from generation to generation, thus found new life in this celebration.
This illustration is not only a work of art, but a portal to a forgotten world, where the spirituality of oil intertwines with tradition and legend. It is an invitation to rediscover the magic of these timeless ancient rituals, carved into the history and the soul of Puglia.
